Process is hard. Why the process is hard is because of the worse mess that happens when you short-cut the process. People who want to achieve their goals get frustrated and clever, and try and game the process to improve the chance that their goals will be achieved, which introduces new, unwritten rules to the game. And so it goes. Instead of the spirit of an agreement, everyone pores over the letter of the agreement, to figure out how to spin it so that their “opposition” has to give in to the demands. This gets more machiavellian, until hundreds of pages and dozens of hours are spent simply trying to understand all the implications of what’s on the table.

There is, to any reasonable degree, an extreme rarity of spirit buried under a huge overburden of letter in all of our society’s processes. ANd this overhead is what is crushing us, communities, people, causes.

My $0.02 worth, rounded up to a nickel, as we no longer have that currency to slap down. Unless you’re willing to offer me a credit account… but then a bureaucracy will have to be created to manage that.Bruce Campbellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00915063764847482598noreply@blogger.com
